I was in the dining room and my husband was in the kitchen. I had just unsuccessfully tried opening the lid on a new container of mustard. While he was in there, I said to him, “I couldn’t get the lid on the mustard opened.”

The celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection is at the end of this month. Knowing that Jesus came to earth because of man’s need for a Savior, I took time to look at the story of man’s fall in the Garden of Eden found in Genesis, chapter three.

According to the Collins Dictionary, the noun, ambition, means an earnest desire for some type of achievement or distinction, as power, honor, fame, or wealth, and the willingness to strive for its attainment.

There are many ways people show what they are ambitious about.

Not so long ago I heard a narrative about two options for reaching the top of a mountain. One option is to climb up the side of the mountain until you reach the summit.

In my musings about Jesus as the light of the world, I discovered some very interesting facts. First of all the word for “light” in the New Testament is the Greek word “phos” which caused me to think about phosphorus. So, I did some reading about phosphorus and was intrigued by its properties.

Anticipation, joyful expectation, hopefully looking forward…do these describe how you feel about the coming return of Jesus? The Bible has numerous scriptures describing His return. There are quotes from Jesus explaining what it will look like. There are Old and New Testament prophecies that give us assurance of His return, and we know His arrival is much closer than it was 2000 years ago.

But, are we ready?

Can anyone else relate to Paul’s dilemma? We want to do good, but fail to do it. We agree with God in our inner man, but sin seems to get the upper hand in how we act. It is a wretched condition to be in … but there is hope.
